The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) is a points-based system used to assess and score your Express Entry profile. The higher your score, the better your chances of receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence.
Your score is calculated based on your age, education, language ability, Canadian work experience, and other factors. Scores range from 0 to 1,200.

For people outside Canada with skilled work experience. Requires a points-based eligibility assessment before entering the pool.
For people with experience in a skilled trade. Has different eligibility requirements, a job offer or provincial nomination is usually required.
IRCC selects candidates with specific occupations or French language skills. CRS cutoffs can be much lower. Healthcare, STEM, and trades are common categories.
